step 1 · calibration
place a card on the screen — credit, debit, or ID card. vertically, aligned with the top-left corner. move the slider until the width of the rectangle matches the width of the card.

wrap a strip of paper or string around the base of your finger, where the ring will sit. mark the point where it overlaps. then stretch the strip over the ruler, starting from zero.
